About Jewel Meter
Jewel Meter is an editorially independent publication. We don't accept payment for reviews, we don't let brands influence their scores, and we don't tell you what to buy. We tell you what thousands of real customers think.
Our Mission
Buying jewelry online means trusting a brand before you can touch or see a piece in person. Marketing tells you one story. Instagram influencers tell you another. Neither is particularly reliable.
We built Jewel Meter to solve this problem. We aggregate real customer sentiment from Reddit, Trustpilot, Google Reviews, TikTok, and Instagram — the places where people give their honest, unsponsored opinions — and distill it into clear, comparable JewelryScore ratings.
Every brand on our site gets the same rubric. Every score is produced by data, not opinion. When a brand scores well, it's because thousands of customers are saying good things about it. When it scores poorly, we tell you why.
What We Cover
Our current focus is personalized and fashion jewelry brands in the under-$500 range. This includes name necklaces, birthstone jewelry, engraved rings, initial jewelry, and custom bracelets. We plan to expand into fine jewelry, watches, and additional categories over time.
How We're Different
- Data-first: Every claim on this site is grounded in aggregated review data from multiple platforms. We publish our methodology and show our work.
- No brand relationships: We have no financial relationship with any brand we review. No sponsorships, no gifted products, no pay-for-play.
- Consumer-first voice: We write for the person trying to decide between two brands, not for the brands themselves.
- Transparent scoring: Our three-pillar JewelryScore system is documented in full on our methodology page.
Editorial Standards
Our editorial voice is data-driven, confident, and consumer-first. We combine the analytical rigor of publications like Wirecutter with the aesthetic sensibility of a modern jewelry publication. Every claim is grounded in aggregated data, not personal opinion.
Why You Should Trust Us
- 200,000+ reviews analyzed: Our JewelryScore ratings are derived from real customer reviews across Reddit, Trustpilot, Google Reviews, Instagram, and TikTok — the largest aggregated jewelry sentiment dataset publicly available.
- 46 brands, 228 products: We maintain active reviews across every major price tier, from under $50 to $10,000+, giving us cross-market perspective that single-tier reviewers lack.
- Reproducible methodology: Our three-pillar scoring system (Quality, Value, Style) is fully documented. Every score can be traced back to specific data points. We show our work.
- Updated regularly: We re-scrape and re-analyze sentiment data monthly to ensure our scores reflect current customer experiences, not outdated snapshots.
Our Team
Jewel Meter is produced by a team of jewelry industry analysts and consumer data researchers with backgrounds in retail analytics, gemology, and consumer sentiment analysis. Our editorial team has collectively evaluated over 500 jewelry brands and products, with particular expertise in personalized jewelry, direct-to-consumer brands, and affordable fine jewelry.
We maintain editorial independence from all brands we review. No member of our team accepts gifts, samples, or compensation from jewelry brands. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases — a model that aligns our incentives with yours: we recommend what's genuinely best because that's what earns your trust.
